Post 112 : Questions and Retreat

Funny how we learn to appreciate people only when they're no longer with us.

I remember reading rumours and hearing gossips tarnishing the image of Michael Jackson only weeks ago. Now, since he's gone, the world of entertainment seems to be lifting the King of Pop high up on a pedestal again.

Since the news of his death was announced, his album broke through some many years long silence of topping charts. His albums were reported to be the top 10 selling albums on Amazon this evening.

Fans of MJ out there, where were you when the King of Pop was at the brink of banckrupt? Where were you when he was slapped with court charges? Where were you?

And now we all claim that he touched our lives, he lifted up our spirits when we were down and he's the best artiste around.

Where were we when he needed us most?

His death and the publics' reaction got me questioning. I suppose this is just part of the ugly human nature that breeds in us.

His death is just one of the many examples.

I really need to learn to appreciate my loved ones more. I wont wanna regret when they're no longer with me.

Anyway, I'll be leaving for an 8 days Buddhist meditation retreat tomorrow morning. Will be up on the scenic hill of SBS for this course.

I do hope that this retreat will give me strength, inner peace, deeper concentration and wisdom. This is just perfect timing for my emotionally, physically and mentally drained body.

I'm going with an open heart :)
